Workouts and Poses for Periods
Ustrasana or Camel Pose Kneel on the floor with the knees hips-width apart. Turn your
thighs inward slightly and press your shins and feet firmly into the
floor. Rest your hands on the back of your hips (place the base of your
palms on the top part of your glutes and point your fingers down).
Inhale, lift your chest, and press your shoulders down, towards the
ribs.
Exhale, push the hips forward as you lengthen the front of the body and arch back. Keep your hands on the back of your hips or on the back of the heels. If you place your hand on the heels, press your toes into the floor to lift the heels higher. Use your hands to stabilize, push the hips forward, and lift the chest. Drop the head back, gaze upward, and breathe steadily. Stay in this pose for 30 to 60 seconds. |
Wide Child's Pose
Place your knees on the floor, widen them to a comfortable distance, and then fold forward, extending your arms in front of you. Rest your forehead on the mat or turn your head to one side, holding
for five breaths. Turn your head to the other side for another five
relaxing breaths.

Eagle Twist
Lie on your back, and cross your right knee in front of your left knee. Wrap your left toes around the back of your right ankle, just like in Eagle Pose. Extend your arms out in cactus position with your elbows at right angles, palms facing up. Slowly lower both knees to the left. Rest them on the ground, and turn your head to the right. Hold here for at least five breaths, feeling your spine lengthen and twist. You may even hear some "cracks." Use your abs to lift your knees back to center. Uncross your legs, and cross them the opposite way, with your left knee on top. Slowly lower both knees to the right, and look over your left shoulder for another five breaths.

Recipes for Periods
Here are some ideas for things you can make that can help satisfy your cravings. What makes them better for you is that they are homemade so they are less greasy then a delivery pizza or processed potato chips. Enjoy!
Try baked chips. They satisfied your salty food craving but are less fatty and oily since they are baked. Here is a recipe for potato chips if you want to try making your own.
